*1970, Germany Trained as a visual artist and philosopher, Boris Eldagsen attempts to come closer to the unspeakable core of the world. Like a boxer, he dances around a black hole with each work a hook, sidestep or punch versus the invisible. Eldagsen produces photography, videos and installations, poetic and haunting comments that work on a multitude of levels and stem from a process that is both conceptual and sensual. In 2007 Eldagsen was awarded with the Körber-Foto-Award for his series Safety by Numbers, in which he ironically reflects upon the extent of the ever growing need for security.
